We expect the children to read for at least 20 minutes at home every day and to sign their reading records themselves. Children should fill in their reading record by writing the date they read, the name of the book, the page they read up to and a comment on what happened on the pages that they read. This promotes independence and it develops the children's reading comprehension skills.
We do PE on a Tuesday and a Thursday. Children are expected to have a full PE kit in school on every day of the week as occasionally PE days get moved. If children have their ears pierced, their earrings should be removed or taped over. This is for safety reasons.
On a Wednesday, Darwin class go swimming. Children are required to bring a towel, a swimming costume (trunks or a one piece) and a swimming hat.
Homework is set on a Friday and is collected in the following Thursday. STEAM homework is set once per half term and the due date will be decided by the class teacher. Parents may be invited in to see all children's STEAM homework so it's always best to complete the STEAM homework to the best of your ability.
