Our aim is to make every child feel valued and happy because that is when learning is most effective.

Isle Of Wight

We were up and out early today to make the most of our last full day of activities and jumped on the coach to head across the island to The Needles at Alum Bay. We packed our morning watching demonstrations in the glass making factory and the sweet factory (yes we got to taste the sweets we saw being made!) before heading to the shop to buy and create our sand ornaments. After an alfresco lunch followed by ice cream we jumped back on the coach to go fossil hunting. We were given a fascinating talk by our expert guide who showed us fossils and bones of all shapes and sizes including some fossilized poo! We then hit the beach to hunt for fossils of our own to bring home and show off to you all. We made it back to the hotel just in time for dinner before putting on our glad rags for an evening of disco and karaoke. Everyone went to bed sad to be leaving tomorrow but looking forward to being reunited with our families.
Day three and our wake up was a little slower today! Everyone rallied to have plenty of fun in the sun at Robin Hill exploring all the park had to offer. Whether it be getting up close to the birds of prey at the falconry display, climbing into the treetop walkways or riding the pirate ship the children faced their fears with a smile on their face (well most of the time!) and gained new experiences aplenty. We made it back to the hotel in time for a dip in the pool before dinner and another evening on the beach.
Day two started with a 7am musical wake up call (not needed for some of the boys who'd been up since 5!) and dancing from Mrs Mosley downstairs for the girls and a dance performance from the early risers in room 6 in the boys corridor upstairs. After breakfast we jumped on the coach to Amazon world for a hands on wildlife experience, particularly for Peter who made a new friend in the Lima enclosure. With temperatures high we obviously had to have an ice cream to cool off before some fun in the adventure playground. We then jumped back on the coach again to travel to Carisbrooke Castle where we had a picnic lunch followed by a chance to explore the historical site and see the donkey powered well. We finished the day with dinner back at the hotel and an evening on the beach with a chance to cool off with a paddle.
Hello from The Palm Court Hotel! We couldn't wait to get down to the beach once we arrived and took the opportunity to cool down in the water before heading back to the hotel to enjoy a three course meal. We finished our day with a walk round the beautiful Shanklin Chine and have now gone to bed looking forward to tomorrow's adventures.
The children arrived at the hotel safely this afternoon.  If you have any questions regarding this trip please contact the school office :-)
