Ready to Learn…..Let’s Go!

With summer behind us, I hope our students are ready to learn this year.  Our topic for this half term is ‘Out of this World’.  In science we’ll be learning about our place in the solar system.  We’ll also be researching all the planets.  Please be prepared for some definite fun and possibly edible projects.  In addition, in literacy we’ll be reading Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

Just a few reminders:

Homework is set by the subject teacher.  Students are grouped according to their learning needs.  Please ask your child for their literacy and maths teacher so you know who to communicate with should your student need any support or you have a question.  Students are expected to complete homework and turn in on time.

Reading homework will be given daily. Students are expected to write their own comments. In addition, they are expected to write the date and the pages they read.  The expectation is for students to read a minimum of 20-30 minutes daily, dependant on other homework.  If students have clubs / other activities, please ask them to communicate with the teacher BEFOREHAND if they know completing homework will be an issue.

Our PE days are Wednesday (outside) and Friday (inside).  Please ensure your students bring in the correct equipment so they can participate.  It is an important part of our curriculum.
