Milton Hall Primary School

‘Dream it, Believe it, Achieve it.’

Our aim is to make every child feel valued and happy because that is when learning is most effective.

The Enterprise Team was set up in 2013 with pupils from year 5 as this school feels it is never too young to encourage entrepreneurial skills. It is designed to offer innovative schemes that introduce school children to the world of business.

Planning, creating financial projections and marketing are all part of the skills that thay have to master to turn an idea into a successful and profitable project. The Enterprise Team’s educational agenda is making a difference and is a further way of developing a vibrant enterprise culture with the future generations of entrepreneurs.

Projects that have been undertaken are:

  • three portrait tea towels, involved portraits of all 700 pupils and staff.
  • staff competition to prepare presentations so that the Enterprise Team could decide how to distribute profit around the school
  • inter-school quiz that started in the school and has grown in its second year to include 28 local primary schools and hosted in six schools.
  • in each quiz venue the Enterprise Team is responsible for greeting the teams and selling refreshments.
  • the latest project is creating and building our own eBay site. It is called “It’s yours” and will sell to pupils, parents and friends, almost new, items with the proceeds being donated to the school.

It’s clear that pupils gain really useful business experiences as a result of being involved in the Enterprise Team which will undoubtedly prove beneficial in their future careers.
