Milton Hall Primary School

‘Dream it, Believe it, Achieve it.’

Our aim is to make every child feel valued and happy because that is when learning is most effective.

Important Information

We expect the children to read for at least 15 minutes at home every day and to sign their reading records themselves. Children should fill in their reading record by writing the date they read, the name of the book, the page they read up to and a comment on what happened on the pages that they read. This promotes independence and it develops the children's reading comprehension skills.

We do PE on a Tuesday and a Thursday. Children are expected to have a full PE kit in school on every day of the week as occasionally PE days get moved. If children have their ears pierced, their earrings should be removed or taped over. This is for safety reasons.

Starting on Wednesday 25th September, Darwin and Newton class will go swimming. Children are required to bring a towel, a swimming costume (trunks or a one piece) and a swimming hat.

Hawking class start swimming on Wednesday 22nd January.

Homework in children's homework books is set on a Friday and is collected in the following Wednesday. MyMaths homework is set on a Friday and should be completed by the following Friday. STEAM homework is set once per half term and the due date will be decided by the class teacher. Parents may be invited in to see all children's STEAM homework so it's always best to complete the STEAM homework to the best of your ability.
