Welcome

Week 11 29.6.2020

Hello Year 3!

My goodness what a hot few days we have had.  We hope you have all remembered your sun cream, sun hats and to drink lots of water.

Its been great to see some of you back in school and we have had fun making giant bubbles and doing as many activities as we can outside in the fresh air and in the shade.

It’s also been great to see some of the work you have been doing at home so thank you for sending it in via email.  This is a painting that someone from Redgrave Class has done at home…Can you guess who it belongs to?  We have also included an art activity inspired by this amazing piece of art above which was based on Jackson Pollock.

Yet again, here is the link to newsround so you can keep up with the latest news.  Please continue to speak to an adult about anything on the news that may be concerning you or you find particularly interesting.https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround

How did you get on with the activities last week? One parent has mentioned that their child is particularly enjoying the art, science and geography activities.  Please send us any feedback and we will try to adapt the activities and ideas where we can.

This week we are joined by the very horrid HORRID HENRY, we are looking at digital time in maths and plants and flowers in science.  There are lots of practical activities to do at home too.  We hope you enjoy.

Also, you will all have received a message from the School about the opportunity for you to  support our local community in spreading kindness.  The project from “United in Kind” is called ‘send a smile’ and they are asking if our children can write an uplifting poem/letter, or draw a picture to send to those in the community who are experiencing loneliness. It's completely up to you if you'd like a theme, or just to create whatever your hearts desire. It really is a wonderful project and something that will benefit our local community in these challenging times and put a smile on someone’s face.  Any entries can be uploaded to the School WhatsApp or sent to class email addresses and we will collate them all and forward them on.  The deadline is Friday 3rd July.  Those children who are currently in school will be takng part in this activity. Thank you.

19th June results for Times Tables Rock Stars can be found on our Youtube channel.  The competition is very close so keep going to see which class will be overall champion by the end of the year.

Stay safe everyone.  Missing you trillions.
