Hello Year 5!

We hope you are being safe and sensible at home - wash your hands!  We hope you are not playing too much Playstation/Xbox or spending too much time learning TikTok dances.

We miss you and can't wait until we are back in school so we can get back to normal.  I know you miss us too!  On this page you will find a document that has a suggested timetable to follow and a list of activities for you to complete.  A new document will be uploaded each week with new suggested activities.

Be good and be kind.  See you all very soon!

Miss Hicks, Mrs Lester, Mrs Rand and Miss Ayub

Mrs Brown, Mrs Goddard and Mrs Davis

We suggest your child gets up, washed and dressed at the same time every day.

Ideas for Easter holidays

Make sure you take the time to relax and spend time as a family baking, making crafts etc.  If you would like something a little more structured to maintain a routine here are some ideas.

White Rose Maths will be setting 2 fun activities each day

Catch up on some audio books

Maddie Moats will be doing daily live science lessons on Space, not sure if these will be more KS1 focuses, but we can't check the content as they are aired live at 11am each day!

See below for list of virtual trips you can take from the comfort of your house.

We have aimed for the activities to be accessible for, but if you feel like you would like some extra support for your child, here are some additional materials that might help.

Below are the spellings from earlier year groups, which your child should be secure in.  If they are not, these words are available as lessons on or you can use the look/cover/write/check/ repeat method for them to learn.

Some children were continuing to maintain their phonics knowledge through RWI lessons.  There are speed sound lessons that the children can do daily to continue with this.  They are only 10 mins long, and the ones that have been shown so far i.e. the first 2 weeks will be repeated over the Easter holidays.  Each video is only available for 24 hours from the time of the live lesson.
