Advice to parents of pupils with EHCPs, upcoming Annual Reviews and EHC Needs Assessments
EHCPs
Awaiting information from the local authority regarding pupils whose parents wish to keep their children at home if they have an EHCP. As soon as we receive any further information, the SENCOs will update here.
Annual Reviews
Annual reviews will still proceed at the time indicated, however parent view and child view forms will be emailed to you for completion. These will need to be emailed back to the school two weeks before the Annual Review appointment. The annual review may be able to take place over the telephone if it is just the SENCO, class teacher and the parent, however if there are outside agencies required to attend from either speech and language, visual impairment service, PLT, the local authority or the year 7 destination SENCO then different arrangements will need to be made. This is to be confirmed by the local authority in due course and we will update here.
There is a new option to be able to complete annual reviews via the EHC Hub which is all online. This is currently in pilot mode with the local authority, however if you prefer to try this way before the new system goes live in September then please mention this to your SENCO when they are booking in the annual review.
EHC Needs Assessments
Current assessments that are underway at the local authority are awaiting further information from Southend BC SEN team. When we have further details we will update here and contact parents directly where possible.
Parents whose children are currently at the school level of evidence gathering for an application can be assured that the school will be continuing to complete the necessary forms, however we will not be able to submit applications until the local authority is reopened. We will update here as soon as we are able to.
